Balham

On the first sight, Balham looks fairly boring. The high street has the same shops as every high street in a middle class neighbourhood in London. There are, however, some excellent cafés and pubs in this area and it might just be that Balham will soon get its fair share of cool. The highstreet is also filled with charity shops where you can make some bargains.

Tooting

Tooting is a large area with lots to see an do. There's a huge park in the middle, interesting markets, great restaurants and some nice little cafés. There are also some small traces of cool in the area and who knows if this place will be th place to go in the future. There's a very multicultural atmosphere in the area, which you can also see in the area's restaurants.

Merton (Colliers Wood)

Merton is a suburban area way down in South London. Rows of houses, lots of parks and some pubs and restaurants. The area doesn't seem that fancy even though it's very calm and relaxed. This place feels like a long way from the busy streets of central London.

Morden

Morden is a suburban area deep in South London at the end of the Northern line. This place looks in places almost rural with it's huge park with wooded areas and fields, and with farms and neture walks here and there. It's a good place to escape all the noise of more central areas.

West Norwood & Tulse Hill

West Norwood is a suburban area in South London. The rows of houses look about the same as anywhere else and the cool hipsters have not found this place yet. There's one of the magnificent seven cemeteries here and a couple of nice looking cafes and pubs.Tulse Hill is a bit fancier area to the north, but it's difficult to draw borders for these areas, so I'm including them in the same post.

Herne Hill

Herne Hill is a more relaxed and beautiful area to the south from Brixton. there's a great village atmosphere there. There are some excellent cafés, bakeries, restaurants and pubs in the area. The large Brockwell Park dominates the area
