I'm a Finnish guy who has lived in London since the beginning of 2012. I like to walk around the city finding new places. I also photograph a lot. My photography can be found on my photoblog Rain (and shine) Gallery.
London is such a huge city, that I find it has something for everyone. That's why I think that guide books often fail to give objective view of what's good. I'm definitely not claiming that I could do any better. This blog is purely based on my experiences and if you're something like me, you might like the same things. I'm a vegetarian (eating seafood though) so my food recommendations are from that point of view. I mostly enjoy indie rock and folk when it comes to music and that obviously guides my choices in pubs and clubs. I also enjoy craft beers in all they're variety and I have tried to include as many microbreweries and brewery pubs as I possibly can.
I've divided the blog roughly in areas of London. The idea is to get a sense of each area with its distinctive features. Sometimes the borders are hard to draw, so I'm compromising a bit and name the areas according to my intuition. I'm adding new areas and new attractions, pubs, clubs, restaurants and whatever as I find new things so if you like this blog, return to see whether I've found some new nice places. If you're looking for information on a specific area you can find an alphabetical list of the areas in the right column to find what you're looking for.
There's also a Highlights page, that tells you my absolute favourite places in London. This is a good way to get started if you're not really familiar with this city. There's also a map of all the places which helps you to get a sense where everything is.
London events page tells a bit about London's events and how to keep track of what's happening.
You can never know the whole London even if you've lived here all your life. So get investigating. There's always something new. This blog is probably best aid for visitors, but hopefully it gives some ideas for all you Londoners as well. Enjoy!
