Crouch End

Crouch End is a bit isolated village in North London. I call it isolated because there's no tube station here and it's not easily reached even by trains. There are some really nice places here though, so it might be worth the visit. There are nice but quiet pubs, ethnic restaurants and small shops. Some of the houses look really fancy, but the area itself is not too posh. Most of the film Shaun of the Dead was filmed here.

Parks:
  • Parkland walk is a beautiful pedestrian walk in the middle of nature. This walk runs from Finsbury Park to Highgate and the biggest part of it is in Crouch End. This used to be an old tube line. You can still see old railway bridges and the Crouch End tube station platforms. Nice getaway from the noises of London.
  • Priory Park is a nice and small landscaped park. Nice place to sit in the sun.
Eating:
  • Khoai serves delicious Vietnamese food with very affordable prices. Try one of the vermicelli salads. They're amazing!
Shopping:
  • One of London's Flashback record stores is here! The other ones are in Islington and in Shoreditch. This shop is smaller than the other ones, but it still has great new and second hand CDs and LPs.
Drinking:
  • Crouch End is not probably the most exciting party area but there are some nice and quiet pubs to hang out with your friends. King's Head is one of them. Great beers on tap and a relaxed atmosphere! Also the food looks good!
Areas around Crouch End: Finsbury Park, Harringay, Wood Green, Highgate
