Barnet

Barnet is a North London idyllic country village. There are old countryhouses, parks, churches small cozy pubs and cafés. Dr. Livingstone used to live here after his first trip to Africa. This is a great place to escape the crowds of Central London for a stroll on the countryside.
Drinking:
  • Ye Olde Mitre Inne is an old coaching inn. It's really atmospheric with live fireplace and dark wooden walls. Great real ales, greater atmosphere.
  • The Black Horse public house is a cozy little pub with a beer garden. What makes it interesting, is that they have their own brewery. Changing beers you can only get from here.
Cafés:
  • There's a Harris + Hoole café in the centre of Barnet. This is a place for a good espresso-based coffee. Good delicacies as well.
Sights:
  • Monken Hadley is a beautiful area of country houses, church, almshouses and a beautiful park. This is a great getaway and filled with history. It was here, that Dr. Livingstone lived.
