Kingston & Hampton

Kingston is the furthest corner in the South-West London. The area around the train station is a bit ugly with all the post-war buildings, but once you get to the riverfront, there are some beautiful old buildings and nice riverside pubs and restaurants. On the other side of Bushy Park, there is the grandest of London's royal palaces, Hampton Court Palace, the home of Henry VIII.
Museums:
  • Hampton Court Palace is the grandest of London's royal palaces. Henry VIII used to live here in addition to his central Whitehall palace. The palace has a staggering amount of beautiful rooms and gardens. This is a great place to come to on a summer day. It's also a great place to learn about history.
Drinking:
  • There's a really nice riverside in Kingston. The Bishop is an excellent nautical themed pub with tasty beers and a beer garden by the Thames.
Cafés:
  • There's a cereal bar in Kingston, where you can find all sorts of unhealthy meals, such as many kinds of cereal and crisp sandwiches. This is probably more of a curiosity than an actually cool place, but if you're into kitch, this is for you.
Areas around Kingston & Hampton: Teddington, Molesey, Surbiton, New Malden
