Tooting

Tooting is a large area with lots to see an do. There's a huge park in the middle, interesting markets, great restaurants and some nice little cafés. There are also some small traces of cool in the area and who knows if this place will be th place to go in the future. There's a very multicultural atmosphere in the area, which you can also see in the area's restaurants.



Parks:
  • Tooting Bec Common is a huge park with woodland paths, broad fields, lakes and great picnic possibilities. There's one of London lidos, out door swimming pools in the park. There are also all kinds of sports grounds and they have occasional events such as the circus or a fun fair.

Eating:

  • Apollo Banana Leaf is a charming Sri Lankan restaurant with excellent curries. Especially the fish curries are very good. The staff is very friendly and there's a great mountain view on the walls.
  • One of the amazing Franco Manca pizzerias is here at the Tooting Market. Excellent sourdough treats!

Entertainment:
  • Tooting Tram and Social is a fantastic venue for club nights, live music and open mic nights. It's set in old tram barracks.
Cafés:
  • Brickwood is an excellent café with delicious espresso-based drinks and good brunch options. The place is in the middle of the Tooting Market. 
  • Kaspa's Desserts is an American style café with amazing selection of Italian gelato and milkshakes. The atmosphere may not be the best, but you get some delicious things in here.  
Markets:
  • Tooting Market is a large indoor market place with lots of world food stalls, shopping, furniture and beauty parlours. There's a very multicultural atmosphere here. 
Drinking:
  • We Brought Beer has one of their locations at the Tooting Market. This tiny place has a couple
    of tables where you can enjoy a wide range of beers. If it's too packed, you can also buy bottles to take away.
  • The Wheatsheaf is a fancy pub with fancy gastropub food. It's still nicely decorated and laid back enough to enjoy their great selection of craft beers.
  • By the Horns Brewery is a bit of a walk away, but it's really worth the trip. They have amazing beers on tap. You can also take a brwery tour and they have some events every now and then.
 Areas around Tooting: Wimbledon, Merton, Balham, Streatham
