Bayswater

Bayswater is full of rows of bright white houses, neat streets, churches, good restaurants and small parks. It's not the most interesting area in London, but it's very pretty. The heart of the area is Queensway with many Chinese restaurants and shops. It's more pleasant than the neighbouring Paddington, but not as interesting as Notting Hill on the other side.

Eating:
  • Bengali is an excellent Indian Restaurant. Prices are very cheap, food is terrific and the downstairs dining area is very pleasant.
  • On Queensway, there are lots of great Chinese restaurants. Kam Tong offers authentic Chinese cuisine. Most of the customers look Chinese, which is always a good sign.
Drinking:
  • The Daniel Gooch is a nice and atmospheric pub named after  railway and transatlantic cable engineer. The dark-panelled walls give it a romantic feel. Good place for a pint or two.
Areas around Bayswater: Paddington, Notting Hill, Maida Vale
