Sights:
- The old campus of Greenwich University is one of the most beautiful buildings I've ever seen. Sometimes it's also possible to go in some of the buildings. The painted room is magnificent and the chapel is also really beautiful. Just walk around and see where you have the access to.
- Cutty Shark is an old clipper ship that is on display at the Thames rivershore. It used to bring wool from Australia and tea from China. There is a museum as well, but if you just want to take a look at the ship, there's a free access.
- The prime meridian can be found on the hill in Greenwich Park. There are a lot of tourists photographing themselves standing on the line.
- Greenwich Park is a big park with a rose garden, some nice old buildings and statues and one of the best views over London. Definitely worth climbing the hill to see it. Check out Ranger's House as well.
- I bet there are great eateries around Greenwich, but I can recommend only one of them. Vietnam Oriental serves delicious Vietnamese/Chinese food in a nice atmosphere.
Markets:
- Greenwich Market is a cozy marketplace with handcrafts, clothes, souvenirs, street food and delicacies. Definitely worth a visit.
Drinking:
- The district near the river has many narrow streets filled with nice looking pubs. I don't have much experience when it comes to them, but just try one of them, 'cause they all look nice.
- London Meantime Brewery is one of the longest running London microbreweries. The beers are just delicious! Pale ale, Yakima Red and pilsner are probably my favourites, but at the brewery, you can taste them all! It's a bit far from anything else, but it's worth the trip.
- Music & Video Exchange is a relatively small record store, but it has rather good collection of second hand vinyl and CDs. Especially 60's stuff.
- Beehive is a fantastic small shop that sells vintage clothes and vinyl albums and basically anything retro.
- Greenwich Picturehouse belongs to a chain of excellent picturehouse cinemas, where they show the blockbusters, but also some independent films that are not available elsewhere. They also have a nice cafe and bar.
