Lambeth

Lambeth is right on the other side of the Thames from the Houses of Parliament. Lambeth Palace is a piece of old London right next to the Garden Museum. In the Thames riverfront there are a few modern buildings, including the MI6. Even thought Lambeth is just on the other side of the river from Westminster, the amount of tourists reduces a lot.

Museums:
  • Imperial War Museum is one of the best museums in London. This enormous museum showcases mostly warfare in the 20th century. There are large sections for both World Wars and a whole exhibition for the holocaust. One day is not enough to go through this whole museum, but fortunately the entrance is free. The building itself is magnificent! It used to be a mental institution, also known as Bedlam.
Parks:
  • Archbishop's Park is a quiet getaway from the noises of the city. Dogs playing and people reading books on the grass. Recently there has been a brilliant work of art portraying two cyclists made of plants.
