New Cross

New Cross is known for Goldsmiths University. There are nice looking pubs around, where students are having pints when they're not studying. Architecture is a mix of old and new. There's some roughness around the edges there, but art students bring lively city culture along with great cafes, bars and shops.

Drinking:
  • The New Cross House is a nice pub with a lot of university students. Drink a pint or two and eat pizza or pub food. The menu is vast.
  • The Amersham Arms is a classy hangout for students and the like. They have live music and DJs every once in a while.
  • The White Heart between New Cross and Peckham has an amazing beer selection. It's quite expensive, but it has all things nice for beer connoisseurs.
Sights:
  •  Goldsmiths University is a sight in itself. On top of the building there is metallic scribble and on the back of the building there are metallic arty figures.
Eating:
  • If pizza at the New Cross House doesn't tickle your fancy, ReynA offers delicious Turkish cuisine with affordable prices. The atmosphere is not the most pleasant on weekdays, if the place is empty, but I'm sure it's nicer when it's a bit busier.
  • The Fat Walrus is a great place for unhealthy food. They have amazing burgers (with lots of vegetarian options) and for example waffles with fried halloumi with syrup. Some good beers as well.
