Sights:
- Tower Hamlets Cemetery is one of the "magnificent seven" cemeteries around London. Terrific tombstones dressed in ivy and old curled trees. Good place for a walk.
- Regent's canal is interesting near Mile End. There are modern buildings, graffiti and locks. Definitely worth a walk.
Parks:
- Victoria Park is north of Mile End. In this part of the park, there is a beautiful lake and chinese pagoda.
- If you don't like those huge chain cinemas and their expensive prices, Genesis Cinema on Mile End Road has great value tickets in a nice old-time cinema atmosphere.
- Mile End doesn't really yet have so many cool pubs and bars, but at least they're on their way. The Victoria is a quite large pub with great real ales and food. There's a beer garden in the back, cocktail room and an upstairs dining room! The clientele is quite hipstery.
