Knightsbridge & Belgravia

Knightsbridge is probably the wealthiest area in London. Streets are filled with expensive cars and Burberry clad snobs. Some of the buildings are really beautiful and there are some interesting museums as well. Harrods sells a lot of ridiculously expensive stuff from diamond collars for your cat to crystal swans that cost tens of thousands of pounds. Belgravia is an area with a lot of embassies and Victoria Station for trains to the south. I'm including these two areas in the same page, since it's difficult to draw borders for them.

Museums:
  • Natural History Museum is an interesting place for all of those who like dinosaurs and other extinct animals. Large collection of skeletons and stuffed animals. In addition to T-Rex, the blue whale and enormous extinct armadillo are my favourites. The building itself is phenomenal. If you're going during the weekend, prepare to stand in queue. The entrance is free.
  • Victoria and Albert Museum is for all those people who like enormous things indoors and expensive jewellery, pottery and almost anything you can think of. The building itself is magnificent and there are rooms after rooms of astonishing things. You can't really describe this, you need to see it for yourself. Entrance is free, except for changing exhibitions that have in the past included a variety of fashion themes from wedding dresses to clothes worn in famous films.
Shopping:
  • It is in fact wrong to put Harrods under shopping section, 'cause you have to be ridiculously rich to actually shop here. But if you want to look at ridiculous pet accessories, expensive but futile items or over-the-top jewellery, this is the place for you. I especially encourage to check out the gift section.
Entertainment:
  • Royal Albert Hall is undoubtedly the finest looking music venue I've ever been to. If one of your favoured bands performs here I suggest you get the tickets, 'cause seeing the place itself is worth something. they also have world class classical music events.
Parks:
  • To the north of Knightsbridge is Hyde Park. One of the most famous, and one of the biggest parks in London. The entrance to Hyde Park from Knigtsbridge is decorated with outstanding Albert Memorial. Princess Diana Memorial Fountain is also nearby.
  •
 Drinking:
  • The Grenadier is well hidden in the small backstreets near Hyde Park. Great food, beer and atmosphere! Many people have reported on experiencing paranormal activities in this charming pub. The ceiling is full of money from around the world.
  • The Queen's Arms is a nice small pub hidden in the small allies between Knightsbridge and Kensington High Street. Real ales and pub food. One of the few nice pubs in this area.
  •  Fox & Hounds is one of the nicest little pubs you could find in this type of area. Red walls are full of paintings and the comfy leather sofas just invite you to sit and enjoy Young's brewery real ales. The prizes are very affordable.
  • The Wilton Arms is a cozy historic neighbourhood pub. Enjoy real ales and food and just hang out with your mates.
